- Peel the rinds from the five lemons and reduce them into 1/2 inch slices. Set the lemons aside.
- Region the rinds in a bowl and sprinkle the sugar over them. Permit this stand for approximately one hour, so that the sugar begins to take in the oils from the lemons.
- Carry water to a boil in a protected saucepan and then pour the hot water over the sugared lemon rinds. Permit this combination to cool for 20 minutes and then do away with the rinds.
- Squeeze the lemons into another bowl. Pour the juice through a strainer into the sugar mixture. Stir nicely, pour into pitcher and pa it inside the refrigerator! Serve with ice cubes.
